"Best of the Best" (movie review)

bestofbestFive martial artists from the United States are selected to fight against a team from the Republic of Korea in a tournament in Seoul. They have three months to train and become a team in order to have a chance to defeat the South Koreans, who are the best of the world and are subsidized by their government to train all year.

When I was a child, "Best of the Best" was one of the best films "ever" for me and my friends :) It was the kind of film we watched on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I forgot about the film for many years, I had a vague memory about it but I didn't remember its title or cast. A few days ago I stumbled across it, and got it for the sake of old times ( knowing it wouldn't be, by far, as good as I thought it was years ago ).

"Best of the Best" is not a great film, probably even not a good film for most people, but I still like it. The acting may not be the best, but the cast includes some good actors like the illustrious James Earl Jones and Chris Penn. Most of the martial art scenes are well done and the movie is enjoyable. More than I expected at first.
