"The Groomsmen" (movie review)

the-groomsmenFirst of all, I tend to like films about old friends reunions, someone coming back home after a long time, that kind of plots... in fact, some of my favorite movies match that definition, like "Elizabethtown", "Beautiful Girls", "Garden State", "The Big Chill"... so, given "The Groomsmen" could be considered one of those, I liked the cast and Edward Burns was the director, I was pretty sure I'd like it :). It isn't, by far, as good as the movies listed before, but I enjoyed it.

It is one week before the wedding of Paulie (Edward Burns). During the week, he and his groomsmen, who are his four best friends, including T.C. (Legizamo) whom they haven't seen for a long time, are going to talk about growing up, their fears, doubts and internal conflicts.

Burns was quite right choosing the actors to play the groomsmen, they are the key element to make the plot believable and entertaining. They all do it really well, especially Matthew Lillard and John Leguizamo.

Funny and emotional.
