"Alpha Dog" (movie review)

alphadogI didn´t know much about "Alpha Dog" (only what I read on imdb.com: "A drama based on the life of Jesse James Hollywood, a drug dealer who became one of the youngest men ever to be on the FBI's most wanted list") but the plot and cast seemed interesting enough to give it a try:

Johnny Truelove is a drug dealer who kidnaps the brother of one of his associates, who owes him money, to make him pay. The idea seems good at the time, but he and his accomplices will realize soon it was a huge mistake...

I enjoyed watching "Alpha Dog". The story, inspired by real events, is peculiar and the cast does a good job. The main character, Truelove, is played by Emile Hirsch, who worked previously in some remarkable films like "Imaginary Heroes" or "Emperor's Club". Also worth noting are Justin Timberlake, who surprised me with a great performance, I really liked his character; Bruce Willis, who plays Truelove's father; Shawn Hatosy; and Sharon Stone.

Not a great movie, but better than expected.
